Master Mind Groups… A Serious Key to Success

Looking for a way to leap frog your business success?  Then explore the power of Master Mind groups.

The concept of the “MasterMind” is not new.

Napolean Hill appears to be the first author to discuss the Master Mind concept in the timeless and best selling book “Think and Grow Rich”.  In his book he shares the power and possibilities that are unleashed when people can come together, with a positive mind set to create new opportunities, a new way of being and living.  In possibilities.  In abundance.

Through the years many others have found that the Master Mind concept is life changing.  Mark Victor Hanson talks about it in his book “The One Minute Millionaire”.  There are companies that have created MasterMind groups and call them “peer advisories”, but, to me, different name-same concept.

Creating possibilities by sharing group knowledge, intellect and support.

Technology has created a new realm of Master Mind groups… they can also be facilitated via conference calls.  The purpose is the same… sharing a desire, a goal and being supported by the group.

In 1987 I joined my first MasterMind group.  I had a barter company I wanted to grow and the other participants were a photographer and a massage therapist.  We brainstormed primarily around marketing our respective businesses.  Shortly after that I became part of TAB-The Alternative Board considered a peer advisory, but has many similarities to the Master Mind concept.  This group was much larger.  Maybe 12 of us.  All types of businesses.  An importer, a franchise, a manufacturer, etc.  The knowledge at that conference table was incredible.  I stopped the program when I sold one of my companies, but in 2001 I started a Master Mind group (we call ourselves “The Mighty Manifestors”) and we we meet twice a month.

In 2002 after facilitating a workshop called “Get Clients Now!” (I’m licensed to present the material from the “Get Clients Now!” book by C.J. Hayden)   and after completeing our 4 week program, the group asked if they could stay together.  That created the space for me to offer a program I call “Your Collaborative Board”.  I have two groups that meet once a month for the positivity, the brainstorming, the support and the accountability.

My partners in Resource City Connections have all experienced Master Mind groups and have felt the power & energy and we decided to tap technology to create a Resource City Master Mind group.

Why do MasterMind groups work?

One area that they impact us is in our creatvity.  Alone, we have only so many ideas, so many directions to go. But, add 2 or more, and the creativity explodes.  Another area is emotionally.  Many entrepreneurs feel that the business rests on their shoulders, and, to be sure, it does.  However, the sharing of the challenges and the celebrations of success help to lighten the load and double the joy.  Accountability.  Having a supportive group that holds you accountabile, that sees where you may be holding yourself back is priceless.

There are more reasons that I will address the next blog I send out, but, in the meantime, instead of trying to be the Lone Ranger-remember that he had Tonto and Silver as well.

 Positively,

Karen Hoffman-The IDEA Coach
